Mike Carter

mike.jpgMike is the managing director of Tyn Can Learning an educational company based in the Newcastle upon Tyne. He has a considerable history of supporting teachers using technology dating back to 1988 as an Advisory Teacher and then as a curriculum consultant for ICT. He is a member of NAACE and is also the manager of the 'Computing at Schools Tyneside Hub' supporting teachers in delivering the new curriculum. He is a CEOP ambassador for e-safety and an associate lecturer at Newcastle University where he delivers the ICT element of the Primary PGCE qualification. From 2003 – 2011 he was the deputy manager of Gateshead CLC. He is interested in using technology in a creative way to enhance and engage pupils. He is currently involved in promoting a compact portable sensing device called the Labdisc for use in outdoor learning and science in primary and secondary schools.
